100 Things About Me....

Inspired by Julie's post of 100 things, which was very witty and creative, I decided to copy her because it's been a while since I've done something like this and thought you might like to know some odd facts about the author of The King's Missus.

1. When I was in first grade, I said I wanted to be a baker when I grew up!

2. My dream car would be a jade-green Land Rover.

3. In college I survived on spaghetti; just ask my roomies!

4. I used to be afraid of marriage and I vehemently declared I would wait for marriage until 40.

6. I used to have a horse club in 5th grade where girls would come over and ride my horse Rebel, and we called ourselves Rebel's Girls!

7. I was raised going on very rugged, extreme camping trips on horseback, miles into the wilderness as our idea of a "family vacation."

8. My parents were strictest with me (the oldest) and loosened up considerably with each subsequent kid (3 total).

9. I used to be a HUGE practical jokester and have been known to: put fake bugs in food at my Grandma's house, hide a rubber snake under my Grandma's pillow, make cookies for my family with laxatives in them, put a dead mouse in a pretty package and give it to a guy friend (in High School) who was deathly terrified of mice, prank the boys' dorm with fellow pranksters in college, etc. etc.

10. I LOVE reading embarrassing stories! Maybe someday soon we'll do a feature on them on my blog!

11. I'm deathly terrified of mice too!

12. I don't understand why anyone would WANT to have rodents for pets.

13. I like animals but I'm not big into pets and don't care if our family never has any.

Wow, good stuff, Lindsey and very interesting! We are very much alike on many of your 100 things. Also, can I please come to Hawaii too when you're 40? :) (I think I'll be 42 at that point, but that's okay :))

I've heard that Croc's tend to make holes in your socks. Have you found that to be true? Or do you wear them barefoot?

Such an interesting list, Lindsey! Thanks for sharing!

Me again. I have been thinking about your "blogging builds character." I thought I'd throw a question out to all you other bloggers and blog readers. How do you limit your time on the computer so that you tend appropriately to your family? I need limiting ideas.

I love your list, Lindsey! I think 100 things posts are great. (by the way, my 2 year old refered to someone as the "blue boy" today. I rememembered you writing about Ali doing that, and I just had to laugh!)

Meredith, I am trying to convince my husband to buy me a laptop for Christmas. That way I can blog and cook supper simultaneously :) It's not working...

I love that we still have SO much in common.

One of your 100 was enjoying prairie life with certain contemporary niceties: I have decided that is what the Amsh got right. Where we are, we have Amish all around. And I see them at the natural health clinic or at Walmart buying some baby supplies. I recognize that mostly they live hard, simple lives, but when they absolutely need some of the modern conveniences, they are available. Just a thought, I find cool.

Anyway, I loved learning more about you. Thanks!

Ok so if you don't have a tv does that mean that you don't watch any movies or do you have a VCR and DVD player?? Also why do you prefere doctors over midwives?

We do have a video player and DVD player and we do watch movies. And now that we have DSL we watch some TV shows online, commercial free that are clean.
I prefer midwives because they stick with you the whole time and support you through it all!

Hello,
I just discovered your blog tonight and really enjoyed reading it. If I didn't have to work tomorrow, I might spend more time on it...:) What a wonderful family you have and I must say, your mother is BEAUTIFUL! :O)

You sound very much like me, only younger. I have a blog too, but alas, it has taken a back seat to (MANY) other things.

Take care and nice "meeting" you...:)

Lisa
