Modesty Monday--#15
A Question to ask yourself on Sundays:
Was there a man who arrived for worship today desirous of worshiping God who found himself distracted by you and your body because of the clothing you were wearing?
I am reminded of a woman at our church who always wears skirts that are an inch or so above her knee. perfectly fine when she is STANDING, but when she sits, it scooches up, as all skirts do - revealing several inches of a very nice thigh.
We don't sit anywhere near her.
This woman dresses (and acts)modestly & attractively, except for that one issue & I'm sure it would bother her tremendously to know that people have to choose to sit elsewhere to avoid the distraction.
It is a kindness to a sister in Christ to approach her tactfully and in love, and help her with a modesty issue that is an obvious stumbling block to the brothers. There was a time when I made some terrible blunders, but did not know then what I know now. When I look back on it, how I WISH some older and/or wiser woman had approached me about it!
