Well, I guess it was only in my imagination that Justus was feeling really heavy lately. With his diaper and his pajamas on he is still only 11#! My kids tend to grow a lot right away and then fall to the bottom of the charts pretty quickly and hover at around the 10-20th percentile. I'm not sure how long he is but probably around 22 inches.

ReplyDeleteSo cute! I just read about your Ergo. Dose it hold the baby very close to you and do you move as one? I have tried several front and back carriers and they all seem to not fit. They are too tight on baby or he is too far away from me and so I tighen because he is just kind of out there moving around way to much. And they have all really hurt my sholders, neck and back though it may be because I had it the tightest it would go and still didn´t like how my baby was so insecure. I really need a carrier and don´t know what to do. We are going to Honduras in November on a mission trip and it would be a blessing to find a carrier that works and really hold my 4 month old close to me. I reall can´t spend that much but would find some way if I were sure we would love it. I have tried other carriers which makes me hesitant to buy it because I have been so disapointed.

There is nothing between baby & momma like there is with most carriers, so baby snuggles up close to momma, but it certainly isn't too snug.
Like you, we tried several different carriers & the very first time I put the ERGO on, I knew it was different.
I loved it before the day was done. I was even able to nurse a baby discreetly, and comfortably, while shopping, for the first time ever (although I configure my straps a bit differently than Mrs Jo does)

If you sew, you could try your hand at making a mei tei carrier (there are free patterns online - here's one: http://www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/Baby/)
which is similar, but probably not nearly as comfy to the one wearing the babe.
